Webflow website rebuild and optimization: Improving investor engagement by 18%

Project overview
A healthcare provider’s day-to-day operations aren’t limited to holding patient visits and administering treatments. They have to deal with dozens or even hundreds of insurance claims daily.
That’s where an electronic health record (EHR) system comes in — but it also has some limitations.
Traditionally, healthcare providers had to employ a medical coder (or even a whole team of specialists) to label every claim and bill before sending them to the insurance company. The process was tedious and time-consuming, not to mention prone to human error.
Then, generative AI and natural language processing entered the stage. With their help, medical coding could finally get automated.
Our client, a healthtech company, decided to leverage this opportunity. Its autonomous medical coding platform secured backing from Y Combinator and eventually made a name in AI healthcare.
As the interest in its product from investors and potential customers grew, the company realized its existing marketing website left much to be desired. Its layout and design were outdated, so adding new pages or content was cumbersome and time-consuming.
As a result, the company decided to update its website to handle the increasing traffic and drive investor relations and user acquisition further. It turned to us with a request to turn the existing Figma design into a Webflow website and improve its SEO and performance.

Challenges
Our client’s most critical challenge concerned the project’s timeline: the company needed the Webflow website up and running within a tight timeframe. At the same time, our client wanted to be certain that the website’s quality wouldn’t be at risk despite the time constraints.
We rose to the challenge, opting for daily sprints to organize our work and putting in overtime to deliver the website on time.
At the same time, our client needed to polish off its new website design with several animations that seamlessly appeared on the screen. We had to combine pre-built elements and custom code to implement them, while ensuring they don’t disrupt the browsing experience.
Since the client wanted the website to be easy to update and manage in the long run, Webflow was the obvious choice for its implementation. That said, facilitating website management also required us to integrate it with Webflow’s CMS. The goal was to prepare detailed content management guides for its future users.
Here are the key strategic needs and technical requirements revealed during the discovery phase:
Strategic business needs

Solutions
After a thorough discovery phase, we translated the client’s ready Figma designs into a Webflow website. To deliver a pixel-perfect design implementation, we combined reusable components and custom code to turn the design materials into a fully functioning website. We thoroughly tested the website to ensure it looked stunning on any screen size. Also, we checked whether it shows high performance even when users don’t have a broadband internet connection.
In addition to rebuilding the website, we covered the following goals:
- Implemented the two new animations.
- Integrated the website with Webflow’s fully editable CMS.
- Improved performance and SEO configurations.
We agreed to apply daily sprints to meet our client’s tight deadlines without risking the quality of work. This way, we sped up the feedback loop between the client and our team, with the feedback being addressed in parallel with the development. We also put in overtime when requested to assist our client with launching the new marketing website on time.
As a result, our client received a pixel-perfect Webflow marketing website with a responsive interface, custom animations, and seamless CMS integration, all on a tight timeline. Thanks to our SEO and performance improvements, the company reached its multiple objectives, from a 32% lower bounce rate to a 21% increase in organic website traffic.

Full rebuild of the marketing website with Webflow
Based on the provided Figma designs, we built the marketing website, from the homepage to the About, Contact, and Careers pages. Using Webflow’s elements and styles, we ensured full alignment with the desired look and behavior of the website, all while thoroughly testing its responsiveness across devices and screen sizes.
As a result, the Webflow website mirrored the provided custom designs down to the pixel. With its responsive design and high performance, the website secured a 23% rise in user satisfaction post-launch, as measured by the CSAT score.

Responsive interface
According to our client’s historical data, the incoming traffic for its previous marketing website came from various devices in almost equal shares. The screen sizes also varied significantly. That’s why responsiveness was vital to our client.
To ensure the rebuilt Webflow website looked and functioned as intended on any device, we leveraged the full toolkit offered by the platform. It included fluid grids, automatically resized images, breakpoints, and more. We also adapted the layout and navigation to different devices and screens.
As a result, user satisfaction metrics rose across all types of devices and screen sizes. The SEO indicators, like the bounce and conversion rate, also improved across all website versions.

Extra animations
Our client briefed us on the two animations the company wanted to see across the website. The animations needed to enhance user experiences with fluid motion that draws attention to key elements on the page without overwhelming website visitors.
We combined the available Webflow elements and custom code to implement the animations according to our client’s brief. As a result, the animations matched our client’s vision perfectly. At the same time, we ensured the animations were seamlessly integrated into the interface without compromising the website’s performance or disrupting the UX.

Search engine optimization configurations
Besides improving the website’s user experience, our client set out to rebuild it to attract and convert more potential customers and investors. So, the product owner enlisted our SEO expertise to boost the new website’s search visibility and traffic.
We reviewed the website’s SEO configurations and identified several potential improvements in the heading structure, metatags, and image optimization.
Implementing these and other enhancements increased search visibility by 18% and organic traffic by 21%. High performance and responsive interface, in turn, improved the average session duration by 13% and bounce rate by 32%

Performance optimizations
Since website performance can make or break the user experience and SEO metrics, our client asked us to test and improve the Webflow website’s loading speed, response time, and throughput. We obliged, and our testing revealed several optimization opportunities regarding image size, image and font loading, and caching.
With our client’s green light, we acted on those opportunities, speeding up the Largest Contentful Paint and response times across the website. Our performance optimizations resulted in a 26% higher performance, as measured by the application performance index (Apdex) score

CMS setup for future internal use
Our client wanted us to make the new Webflow website easy to update for all team members. So, we integrated it with Webflow’s fully editable CMS. Besides thoroughly testing the integration, we set up the CMS to support future blog posts, job ads on the Careers page, and team updates.
With our custom configurations and the CMS’s inherent flexibility, our client could easily manage, update, and remove the website’s content. As a result, the client reported that its content management workflows became 27% faster, partially thanks to our comprehensive guides for end user

Detailed handoff documentation
We prepared comprehensive handoff documentation to enable our client’s team to manage and update the website in the long run. It provided clear instructions for internal website management and technical specifications, serving as a reference for future Webflow developers.
In addition to that documentation, we also created a custom guide for using Webflow’s CMS. It describes our configurations for the CMS and provides instructions for run-of-the-mill content tasks like adding blog posts or job ads. It also specifies how to adapt the CMS to new workflows if necessary.
Thanks to this comprehensive documentation, our client can easily manage and update the website and its content in the long run. As a result, the company can expand and adapt it to future needs without depending on a single service vendor.

Post-launch support
Following the website’s successful launch, we kept a close eye on its performance and user feedback. This way, we could immediately respond to any revealed issues or hiccups. We also ensured the effective knowledge transfer between our team and our client’s stakeholders to ensure the company would start managing the website right after its handoff.
As a result, the website rollout was smooth and with no disruptions for our client’s business. Effective knowledge transfer enabled our client’s team to get started with managing the website, minimizing business disruptions as well.
